Easy Slow Cooked Pulled Pork with Mountain View Porter

Easy Slow Cooked Pulled Pork with Mountain View Porter

This recipe is a sure crowd-pleaser and SO SIMPLE! With minimal ingredients, you can add your own style or leave some ingredients out without affecting your final product.

Lets get started…

First, this is a SLOW COOKER recipe, but you CAN do this in your Instapot. I just haven’t had the chance to experiment with that. But if you have, leave it in the comments and let us know how it came out.

What you’ll need…

  • A pork roast (butt or shoulder) 3-4 lbs.
  • 8 oz. of Mountain View Porter
  • Salt. 1 tablespoon
  • Pepper. 1 tablespoon
  • Apple Cider Vinegar. 1 teaspoon
  • Cummin. 1 teaspoon
  • Chili powder. 1 teaspoon
  • 5 bay leaves

Here we go…

Rinse your pork roast with cold water and pat dry. Add all of your ingredients into your slow cooker in the order listed above. Set your timer for 6 to 8 hours and cook on medium. That’s it! Now finish that leftover Porter =)

The final product will be a great starter for BBQ pulled pork (look for our super simple BBQ sauce recipe using our New Vintage of Timeless!) and great for carnitas too! Bring on Taco Tuesday or burrito bowls.

What can you leave out?

  • Pepper
  • Cumin
  • Chili powder

These ingredients add that mild heat, perfect for BBQ and Mexican style meals. So, what else can you add…

  • Garlic
  • Freshly squeezed lemon or orange
  • Fresh herbs
  • Smoked paprika
  • Freshly diced jalapenos or onions
  • Liquid smoke
  • Liquid aminos or soy sauce
  • Mexican Coca-Cola

Once your roast is done, it will shred up nicely. Turn off your slow cooker and let your shredded pork sit in the juices another 30 minutes. I recommend transferring it to a super hot frying pan to add a nice crispy sear, but it’s ready to serve up now!
