2018 Wedding Trends
Pocono Wedding Coordinator Shares The Next Big Things in Bridal
From the wedding cupcake craze, to candy buffets, to the introduction of the wedding hashtag, JT Pellot has helped couples navigate trends over the past decade. Since she has helped so many couples design their occasions, she knows what will be a big hit with guests and what might fall flat.
As Mountain View Vineyard’s Wedding and Event Coordinator, she is already looking ahead to what will be trending next year. Scroll down to see some of her popularity predictions.

Wedding Flowers and Decor
JT says think green in 2018. That’s because one of the biggest trends of 2017 shows no signs of slowing down. JT explained, “The 2017 Pantone color of the year was ‘Greenery’ and we saw it everywhere. We expect to see that trend continuing into 2018 with the use of lots of textured foliage, heavy garland and beautiful flowing bouquets.”
Metallic Wedding Accents
Incorporating metallics, like the pop of of shine on the edge of the chargers above, will be big in 2018.
JT added, “The use of beautiful linens will be on the rise along with the use of more bold color combinations.” Share your personal style by venturing away from typical white or ivory linens.
Ceremony and Reception Venues
Couples are looking for more unique wedding venues and ceremony locations in the Poconos (and around the country). “Couples are looking for things like vineyards, museums and gardens that incorporate elements of their personality into their wedding day,” noted JT.
She added, “Tented receptions are also popular because they give the bride and groom a blank canvas to create their own unique wedding space and allow all the wedding day events to take place outdoors.”
Cocktail Style dinners are gaining popularity and JT expects they will really take off in 2018. She explained, “Creating interactive food stations throughout your reception space as well as offering an abundance of passed hors d’oeuvres, ensures that your guests get to try out many different foods without being tied to their table for half the night.”
“A small plate menu, also allows you to have fun with your floor plan and incorporate cocktail tables and groupings of vintage furniture in combination with traditional seating,” JT said.
Your Wedding Bar
The bar offerings at weddings are becoming just as important as the food for many couples. “Local craft beer and wine are huge trends in weddings right now and at Mountain View Vineyard, your beer, wine, and spirits are produced right on the grounds using sustainable practices,” said Kate.
Signature drinks will remain on trend and we love a his and hers cocktail like our Chocolate Raspberry Martini made with Mountain View Distillery’s Red Raspberry Vodka and Moscow Mules made with our Apple Pie Moonshine.
